…For a rare glimpse of Lima society over the last century, make an appointment to visit the Art Deco mansion, Casa Garcia Alvarado, in Miraflores…
…SAVOR PERU during a Private Dinner with the owner of a historic mansion…
…Before you depart from Lima, one of the members of Peru's elite society, Ana Maria Garcia de Astudillo, will host lunch for you at her historic home…
Dear Ana Maria. What a joy it was for my wife and self to have dinner with you in late January 2012. We were part of a five weeks tour to South America and Antarctica with Scenic Tours an Australian Company who really care for their clients. To us our evening with you at Casa Garcia Alvarado must rate as one of the high lights of our tour. We wish you many more years of good health and happiness.
Dear Mrs. Astudillo, Visiting Casa Garcia Alvarado was very delightful and one of the high-lights of our latest visit to Peru. Everybody enjoyed your home but specially you and your warm hospitality. I still would like to apologize for having the men show in shorts for lunch. We have the excuse that luggage was lost and they were all prepared for hiking the Inka Trail. Both my husband and I are staunch preservationists, so we really appreciate the work you are doing. Not sure exactly how Peru feels about preservation. If you were not to do what you are doing, it would be lost forever, for everybody.
Just returned from a five weeek trip to Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima, Peru. Our most fabulous treat was visiting the CASA GARCIA ALVARADO in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. Our private dining with a few friends was an incredible taste of exquisite Peruvian food (with Pisco Sours, of course) along with this historic early 20th century mansion with host; Ana Maria Garcia de Astudillo. For me, it was a "don't miss" luxurious afternoon.
Dear Ana Maria: ...the time spent in your glorious home (with exceptional cuisine) was the high Peruvian experience. You, more than Machu Picchu, will forever reign supreme in my exceptional experiences in your inimitable country...
Dear Ana Maria: Meeting you, experiencing your hospitality and having a portal into another time and place - was the highlight of our two weeks in Peru. It's not Machu Picchu that should draw people to your country. It's you!! Thank you again for such a special evening. Fondest regards,
…In addition, we enjoyed a very special afternoon in Lima at the Casa Garcia Alvarado. We were treated to Pisco Sours in the Grand Salon, followed by a delicious and authentic Peruvian luncheon, with wine, elegantly served by white gloved waiters. Señora Ana Maria Garcia Alvarado de Astudillo was a most gracious hostess and we could not tear ourselves away from her marvelous stories of growing up in Lima in the last century…
Señora, Angela and I would again like to thank you for having us for dinner at your home. We enjoyed meeting you, seeing your home and the wonderful food and kind service. Our discussions on life, education, politics, health, etc. were stimulating! God bless you and your family.
Dear Mrs. García: Thank you again, for being such a gracious hostess and welcoming my family and me to your beautiful home for lunch on our first day in Lima. We will always remember our visit to your home as being one of the "highlights" of our marvelous South American tour and we hope that, if fortune will smile upon us, our paths may cross again.
Ana Marie: Thank you very much for your hospitality during our lunch visit. Casa García Alvarado is a great home but it was you who made it memorable. I am sure E Jones will enjoy it as much as I did!
